What is non-force manipulation?
At Coastline Therapy Center in Northridge California we also use non-force manipulation to treat patients with a gentle touch. Non-force manipulation is not a thrust done using the chiropractor’s hands but rather performed by pressure on the soft tissues with a tapping device. This can help the chiropractor reduce pain in the joints and muscles with a controlled device. Here at Coastline Therapy Center we use the ArthroStim device to treat our patients with non-force manipulation.
We use the ArthroStim instrument at Coastline Therapy Center…
The ArthroStim instrument gives Dr. Escobar control over all adjustment variables; it produces a succession of rapidly repeating, high velocity-low amplitude thrusts. The power of the thrusts can be changed from little force, up to 40 pounds of thrusting force. The ArthroStim Instrument’s adjustment is finely focused. The spring cushioning produces a comfortable feeling and minimizes the forces returning to the practitioner. With twelve thrusts a second the energy continues to ripple through the joint to surrounding tissues. These thrusts release secondary trigger points and sites of muscular spasm, providing the relief and corrections needed to treat your pain. We have found that patients typically notice a positive difference after the first treatment.
Why use non-force manipulation?
Non- force manipulation is often used for patients who prefer a gentle touch with effective results; we often use non-force manipulation for our younger patients. This is also a popular choice for treatment of patients who have a small body frame or for those who prefer a more gentle touch. Non-force manipulation can result in the following benefits:
- Restore normal motion to the joints of the spine
- Relax tightened muscles
- Improve coordination
- Reduce pain
