What is chiropractic care?

Chiropractic care focuses on the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. Its goal is to treat disorders in those systems and to prevent these conditions from affecting patient’s general health. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches. At Align 33 Chiropractic our professional chiropractic Dr. Escobar is passionate about finding solutions to his patient’s concerns.

Who is a suitable candidate for chiropractic care?

At Align 33 Chiropractic we treat adults and children with chiropractic care, most often we treat active people and those suffering from genetic conditions or people who are recovering from a trauma or accident. We commonly treat but are not limited to people suffering from:

Will chiropractic therapy be painful?

Chiropractic care is extremely safe, drug-free, and minimally invasive. The risks associated with chiropractic, are minimal and with Dr. Escobar’s gentle touch his patients are put at ease during treatment. Many patients feel instant relief following their treatment, some may experience mild soreness, stiffness or aching. Current research shows that minor discomfort or soreness following spinal manipulation typically fades within 24 hours.

Is chiropractic health care safe?

Although chiropractic has an excellent safety record, no health treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects. Here at Align 33 Chiropractic we operate with extreme caution and safety. Dr. Escobar prides himself on providing care with a gentle touch. At Align 33 Chiropractic we often pair our patient’s chiropractic treatment with physical therapy to help use alternative methods to heal the body and put our patients at ease.

Is chiropractic care suitable for children?

Children that are physically active may experience many types of falls and blows from activities of daily living as well as from participating in sports which means they may require physical or chiropractic therapy. Chiropractic care can be used on children, our chiropractor Dr. Escobar has two children and is very comfortable working with child ailments. Chiropractic therapy will be adapted to the individual patient and for children Dr. Escobar always ensures he takes special care when treating children.

Are permanent makeup solutions safe?

Permanent makeup involves tattooing the face and therefore in terms of safety, this is heavily reliant on the technician who applies the makeup. Wesley O’Neil is a graduate of the Huntington academy of Permanent Cosmetics with more than 25 years’ experience in the cosmetics and beauty industries.

What is microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a treatment that breaks up the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of skin cells). The treatment is designed to target the epidermis to clean and rejuvenate your skin. The process is designed to remove the stratum corneum. This break up of cells is interpreted by your body as a mild injury and will work to replace the lost skin cells with new and healthy ones. When the stratum corneum is removed the skin’s surface heals and is improved. During the healing process new skin cells that look and feel smoother and they replace the old blemishes from before.

How often should I get a facial?

The time between facial appointments will vary depending on each individual and their skin type. We encourage our clients to visit us regularly and after your first facial here at Align 33 Chiropractic we can determine when we recommend you come in for another session. Some of our client’s visit every six weeks where as others we see quarterly throughout the year. Before your facial we will assess your skin to determine the most effect products to use and can discuss your next visit as well.

Will my skin be red and irritated after I get a facial or microdermabrasion?

After your treatment at Align 33 Chiropractic your skin may be slightly red and irritated, however every individual’s skin reacts differently to this type of treatment. It is normal to have a little redness after microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion is a manual exfoliation of the skin and if you rub the skin you are going to get redness. With facials your skin will show minimal redness however the relaxing nature and gentle touch usually leaves skin looking fresh and clean with little to no redness.

What does acupuncture feel like?

Acupuncture produces some small sensation at the site of needling. This moment, when a person literally feels an acupuncture point working, is known in acupuncture lingo as de qi. Sometimes there is no feeling at it may depend on the person receiving the treatment or the needle used in a particular area. A common assumption about acupuncture is that it hurts however we find that most of our patients do not experience pain, rather feelings of tingling, warmth or heaviness.

How many acupuncture treatments will I need?

The number of treatments you may require for your acupuncture treatment will depend largely on the area being treated and the severity of the muscles and joints being treated. The length, number and frequency of treatments will also vary from person to person depending on the conditions being treated, your age and health, and how you respond to the acupuncture treatment.

What can acupuncture be used to treat?

Acupuncture can be used to treat a multitude of illnesses, conditions and injuries. The most common ailments presented to us here at Align 33 Chiropractic tend to be pain related conditions. For example; arthritis, back, neck, knee and shoulder pain, carpal tunnel syndrome and sciatica. However, Traditional Chinese Medicine is a complete medical system that is capable of diagnosing and successfully treating a wide range of conditions.
